Folks, we're slowly adding to the roles of the Minutemen. Thanks to those that have responded thus far. If the folks who responded to the Joaquin Jackson recall would sign up we'd be ahead by almost 200 more!
Be sure to let other qualified members know about this so if/when it's needed it's there for us.
Take care and I am hoping my travel schedule relaxes a bit so I can pay more attention to this list!

Get your Buddy and Come On!
That's right. Go get your 5 year + and Life member Battle(trap, skeet, 3-gun, hunting, PPC, Action Pistol, fishing, sniper, I don't care)-Buddy and sign up on this list. How else am I supposed to send you super-duper important info if I don't know where to send it?
Granted I don't plan on having to use this alert system very often but with the way things are these days... We won't have time to do it the "old fashioned" way!
BTW, if you were on the NRA board and saw that the membership just doesn't give rat's rear-end about what you did with our rights, what would you think? Think about it....
Now, I'm a combat-vet recently diagnosed with a 30% PTSD rating. My entire life (outside of work) is gun and shooting related. It's what I do. Me and the wife shoot Bullseye and I do alot of action pistol (IDPA/USPSA) and 3-gun. She's coming along too! We both have CCW and appreciate the extra margin of safety we have because of this. This last little "smoke and mirrors" play with HR 2640 (look it up if you care) hits a little too close to home. If it were indirect fire we'd be "didi-maoing" right about now, if you catch my drift! In a perfect world the legislation will operate the way the NRA leadership thinks it will and everything would be hunky-dory. Unfortunately, the world is not perfect and this legislation leaves gaping holes wide open for abuse of the intent and "spirit" of the law by such upstanding, honest, trustworthy, and wise statesmen as "Chucky" Schumer, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Frank Lautenberg, Patrick Leahy, and the act's sponsor, the casket riding* stateswoman McCarthy. The federal gov't is nothing if not a series of well intentioned unintended consequences. You can look for this law to be twisted by the socialist-communists too!
A word to the NRA leadership: "Go to bed with dogs, you wake up with fleas." Partnering with anti-gun anybody is bad "juju." If it's so good then we should be able to accomplish it without the anti's being involved.

*The part she and the main stream media don't tell: She was divorcing her estranged husband when he was killed in a subway robbery. She promptly rode his casket to a US House of Representatives victory on an anti-gun ticket.

Happy New Year and Welcome to the NRA* Minuteman Petition List Site!
Welcome.
This site has been created to meet, primarily, two needs:
1) To create a list of vote eligible NRA (National Rifle Association) members who are active, committed, and can quickly "put their name on the dotted line" when needed, and when they agree on a particular issue or cause.
2) To provide a site on the net that NRA members can use to host petitions pertaining to issues important to the NRA.
Consider this the "democratic expressway" (all puns intended!) to the NRA HQ and in meeting potential rigorous timelines!
My intent is to get the contact info of those who are interested so when a petition is needed in a timely manner to advance an issue at the Board of Director's level, it can be done quickly and without a lot of fuss.
Being on this list is identical to why you have a gun (or insurance, or a fire extinguished, etc.) in the first place. "Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it." We've been burned before (see "Former Petitions" section below) so like the "anti-gunner turned pro-2A person after being mugged" we're putting in place the tools we need should the need ever arise again. You can always decline to sign a petition you don't agree with. Simply don't respond if I ever send you a bcc email!
Don't get me wrong... This is not a "takeover," a "coup," or any such thing. All this site does is allow voting members to hear and be heard in a timely manner** and to ensure that all the members will be able to learn, then vote, on the same subject.
*This site is the creation of a single individual who is a member of the NRA but this site is not sponsored by nor does it have any connection to the NRA except that the site creator is a member of that organisation. This site is intended to be useful to NRA members (and hence useful to the NRA as a whole) in streamlining and assisting in helping members make informed choices pertaining to the NRA and it's leadership, policies, rules and regulations; and in expediting communication between the NRA leadership and it's members.
**Once we achieve enough names to be able to validate a petition, according to the Bylaws, and assuming that enough Minuteman members support the issue after educating themselves on it.

Couple things:
1) This is a long term effort. Don't be disturbed or think this site is not being monitored nor administered because you see "old" dates on the posts. Like a spare tire in your car, you may not see it every day but the day you need it, it'll be there!
2) I travel for business. It may take me a week (or two sometimes) to get back to update info. Never fear! I see this as a long term effort to acquire and keep in reserve, a ready group of eligible members that when action is needed, we're ready to respond.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Be safe out there!

Sign up or Submit a Petition
To Join Minuteman List:
If you want to be on the Minuteman List send me an email. The email is NRAPetitionList@gmail.com . It's also on my Profile link. Send your contact info (including state and number of petitions this email is "good" for - many married couples, brothers, etc. sent petitions from the same address last time so I'd like to try and keep an accurate count) so if we go through this again I can quickly shoot out a "bcc" email to all Minuteman Members and then you can come back to the site to learn more about the issue. Typically this will be by downloading from a link provided here.
To Submit a Petition or Issue for Action:
If you want to post a petition email me (NRAPetitionList@gmail.com) and tell me what's going on. We'll figure out how we'll post it and then I'll send out a "bcc" to all members on the list.

Former Petitions:
-To Recall Joaquin Jackson from NRA Board of Directors ~ failed (180/27/14/10,10)*
This petition was done prior to this list and site being created. One of the major lessons learned was we didn't reach enough qualified people in enough time. This list aims to fix that by having a list of folks that are willing to look at any new issues quickly and in the numbers that we can get a viable petition validated in weeks if not days. The Recall Jackson petition garnered 180 petitions. More info on this issue can be found at http://recalljoaquinjackson.blogspot.com .
*(total/high three states seperated by /). In the Jackson Effort two states tied in third. A minimally successful result would look like this: (450/100/100/100).
